Well, the last batch of commissions is done- so I'll do some more. X3 But I'll have to keep the amount down so I can juggle that, school, work, and the comic Matt and I are working on. XD Anyway, same prices as before if anyone's interested.
ALSO. I'mma be 21 on like Monday. x___x *feels old* It's a little weired, but it will be fun, basically I'll run out and buy sake, and then settle in for a nice relaxing day at home with ~
ShibaNaganori. Which will be lovely. X3
And is anyone else as amused by the writers strike as I am? "We don't get paid enough, we want MOAR." *eyeroll* Dude, if I can take minimum wage for dealing with people who think they're the kings and queens of the world and like to step all over you for fun, and NOT complain about it- then I think they can suck it up and do the same. :\ I mean, at least they can get by well enough, there's so many poor people out there who can't even do that. *grumbles*
On a lighter note- I'm in the January issue of Newtype magazine! XD Seriously, they covered Youmacon 07 on pages 152 and 153, and in all of the cosplay pics on 152, there's a pic of a group of us in Bleach cosplay. XD I'm like, the only girl there at that point standing next to my Kaien. X3 *huggles*

John Locke will fuck up your shit.
This cannot be avoided.
It's like acting. Yeah, you have a couple famous people who hit it big and rake in millions, but most people in the business are waiting tables struggling to get by, just because they love the work.
The big issue is the unfairness of it. The media companies see gazillions of dollars off of, for example, internet streaming and other online uses of their product, of which writers see not a dime.
:3~
The writer's strike is troubling, because it seems as though the networks want to make it so they make all the money on these webisode things. One story I heard in particular involved the show the Office, when the writers wrote these short scripts and they were filmed and intened to be on the internet. They did them for nothing, and the network put commercials on them, thus assuring that at least the network would make money...I don't think that's fair.
My favorite show Boston Legal only has 4 new episodes left

And yeah, I get the unfairness of what they do, and how most of them have crappy pay- but there are more productive ways of dealing with that sort of problem. For example, when I graduate, I plan on doing freelance art. This is obviously not going to make me a lot of money- but I'll do it because I love it. However, having a stable job aside from that, to pay the bills is not hard. I guess that's what's bugging me about this so much- instead of sitting around and complaining that they don't get paid enough, they could be being proactive and actually go out and find a side-job to get by.
Whew... that was long- I hope it didn't sound like I was attacking you with that one Nanook. D: I'd never, I just got a little riled.

Everyone was hoping that this stupid strike would break during the winter break. Saddly it didn’t. I still side with the writers on it, even though they are doing a disservice to the people that watch these shows. They’re trying to show Hollywood that it will eventually come to a screeching hault without them. Its catching up now, and the Golden Globes have been cancelled as a result, they’re doing a 1 hour press conference to reveal the winners…it totally SUCKS!!
To summarize:
Unions = bad
Writers = wielding God-like power
Hollywood = Greedy Pricks
All of this adds up to one sad Cougar and apparently a Sad Sami too
